- Sumeet Tappoo is an award-winning recording and international performing artist who has captured the hearts of millions of people globally with his soulful voice.
- Born in Fiji on 31st August 1978 to Mahendra & Maya Tappoo. Married to Dr. Krupali Tappoo and have two daughters Saisha and Meera.
- After completing education till Year 10 in Fiji, Sumeet moved to Australia for the final two years of High School at Sydney’s premier higher education institution, Sydney Technical High School, where he was bestowed with the Award of Excellence. He undertook his Bachelor of Business in Management and Marketing followed by a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the prestigious University of Technology Sydney (UTS) where he was awarded an MBA with Distinction.
- Established himself as a professional singer in 2004 in the Indian Music Industry in Mumbai.
- His first concert performance was at the age of 8 in 1986 in Suva Fiji and since then has over 1,000 performances Fiji, India, USA, Canada, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, UK, Germany, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Mauritius, Nigeria, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia & Singapore.
- Sumeet has millions of views online and has a multitude of followers globally and has released over 30 solo and collaborative albums with the biggest artists in Bollywood including the superhit album Destiny which was launched by the legendary Sri Amitabh Bachchan.
- Sumeet was recently the winner of 3 CLEF Music Awards held in Mumbai in June 2023. Nominated in 6 categories, Sumeet won the Best song for “Shivohum”, Best Ghazal Singer and Best Ghazal for “Ret Ka Ghar”.
- Inspired by global spiritual master Sri Sathya Sai Baba and global humanitarian leader Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai, Sumeet is an internationally recognised youth icon and a global philanthropist involved in a multitude of humanitarian projects the world over.
- Sumeet serves as the Chairman of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital Fiji. This is South Pacific’s first state-of-the-art children’s hospital where all surgeries and treatments are totally free of cost. As of 31st July 2023, 232 free heart surgeries and over 13,000 echocardiograms were conducted totally free of charge.
- In addition, Sumeet serves as the Director of Sai Prema Foundation Fiji – Fiji premier NGO serving the poor and needy people of Fiji through healthcare, education, nutrition and social service initiatives. He also served as the Global Youth Coordinator in a global mission of Love & Services led by Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai. Sumeet is also serves on the Executive Board of Divine Will Foundation USA – an NGO on the United States of America involved in humanitarian projects globally.
- The 2020 Fiji Presidential Medal on the occasion of Fiji 50th Anniversary of Independence for his contribution to promoting and serving Fiji through his music and philanthropy
- 2021 Pravasi Bharatya Samman for Sai Prema Foundation presented by His Excellency the President of India
- Bestowed with the highest honour from the California State Legislative Assembly for spreading awareness of Heart Disease and promoting global peace through his music
